June & July - The monsoon in a flash!

I haven’t written a blog in almost two months, and I’m disappointed that it has taken so long. Every time I think of putting together a simple write up, I’ve only been able to shrug the thought aside and focus on “more important” things. While they were non negotiable priorities, I’m still a little disheartened that I procrastinated and couldn’t blog about them. I’ll quickly get you upto speed with what’s transpired in the past sixty days.

Amidst the lockdown in Telangana, we were able to launch Souper Kings and generate a revenue of Rs. 25,000 in just over 25 days! We sold over 200 soups, 50 cold beverages and also introduced Garlic Bread as a side that went on to become a success. Now, we’re in the process of integrating SouperKings and it’s operations within the Egventure Café! This is a huge achievement for a 30-day-old company. To immunity and beyond!

I was able to take on and complete two Content Writing projects for Diztos, a digital marketing firm owned by my pals. For me, it was both a creative and rigorous learning experience. I was able to learn about the various aspects of research and design that go into creating content for websites as a result of this opportunity. Google Keyword analysts, visual designers, developers, content writers, and project managers all collaborate to make the client’s dream website a reality!

On June 21st, my wife and I adopted Sharpay and brought her home. She’s a peke-faced Persian who’s had our hearts melt everytime we get a glimpse of her. She’s a furball of joy that’s united our family in her own special way. Take a look for yourselves 🙂

This monsoon, we’ve celebrated two weddings and five birthdays including my wife’s, mine and my mum’s. God’s been super kind to us with his blessings and everyone in the friends and family circle has put in the effort to make each other’s day special and memorable.

Something that’s helped me write this blog at 2 AM, past midnight is this new approach I’ve learnt. The ‘two minute rule’. It’s a simple yet powerful strategy from James Clear that’s made me procrastinate less and proactively take little steps to get tasks done. Here’s a tiny excerpt from his book Atomic Habits;

“A new habit shouldn't feel like a challenge. The actions that follow can be challenging, but the first two minutes should be easy. Making a habit as easy as possible to start will lead you down a more productive path.

Anyone can meditate for one minute, read one page or put one item of clothing away. The two-minute rule is effective because once you start doing the right thing, it becomes much easier to continue doing it.”

Remember, “if a task takes less than two minutes, do it now!”
